Red Square is the most popular in Moscow. It is the location of various popular tourist attractions such as the Kremlin, St. Basil's Cathedral, Lenin's Mausoleum, the State Historical Museum, the GUM Shopping Mall, and the Kazan Cathedral.
If you watch a lot of Hollywood movies, you must have noticed Red Square many times. It is a large city plaza, often considered the center of Moscow, as most of Moscow's major roads originate from here. It was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site along with the Kremlin building due to its prominent role in Russian history. Red Square is the most popular area in Moscow as it houses most of Moscow's most popular attractions. St. Basil's Cathedral is a magnificent 16th-century cathedral that today serves as a museum. The Kremlin, which is the home of the President of Russia, with its cathedrals, palaces and towers is located to the west of the square. In front of it is the tomb of Lenin. The State Historical Museum is located at the opposite end from St. Basil's Cathedral, which complements the most famous attractions around the square. So as you can see, a trip to the square cannot be avoided under any circumstances!
