Tourists need an Inner Line Permit to enter and travel through the pass. Khardung La Pass remains closed from October to May due to heavy rain and snowfall. ✬✬ Khardung La was built in 1976 and was opened to the public in 1988. This pass is very important for India as it is used to carry supplies up to the Siachen Glacier. From the top, you can have picturesque views of the Karakoram Range and the Himalayas. ✬
