Jawai Dam, a dam on the Jawai River near Sumerpur town in Pali district, is one of the largest reservoirs in Rajasthan. Built by Raja Umaid Singh of Jodhpur in 1956-57 for the purpose of pumping water for irrigation, this reservoir has been supplying water to the villages of Jodhpur and Pali and Jalore districts ever since. The dam is spread over an area of 500 genus kilometers and has a height of 61 feet.
