Located in Asarwa, 15 km from Ahmedabad, Dada Harir Vav, initially known as Bal Harir Stepwell, is one of the two famous stepwells in the region. Established during the Mahmud Begada era, this octagonal stepwell designed in sandstone is a relic of the Solanki style of architecture. During summer it is a place of respite for the local people.
The seven levels of the stepwell, which is a great source of water conservation, can accommodate many visitors at the same time. Located just behind the Dada Hari tomb, this unique construction depicts three stairs from the first floor to the bottom of the well. The entire structure of Dada Harir Vav is a masterpiece of Gujarati design and intricate stonework.
