The geographical features of Rajasthan mainly include the Thar Desert and the Aravalli Range which runs from the south-west to the north-east region of the state. The north western part is dry and sandy. It does not have any fertile land. The important districts of Thar desert are Jodhpur, Bikaner, Jaisalmer, Barmer and Nagaur.

Important districts located in the fertile region of Rajasthan are Banswara, Udaipur and Chittorgarh. Chambal river also passes through Rajasthan.
